For every month in 2009, I will be creating a digital painting which will eventually be included in a calendar for 2010. Each painting will be based on the stories and characters from the roleplays between Kitty and myself.
...with that out of the way, January is freaking cold. FREAKING COLD. 14*F HIGHS AND -5*F LOWS. NOT EVEN INCLUDING WIND CHILL. FREAKING. COLD.
This month, hah. I have featured Navi in her standard activity: reading. All by herself. She, like the month of January, is freaking cold. As such, she is a very lonely and solitary person. Putting the two together became a perfect match and after twenty seven days of procrastination, I finally sat down and spammed it out in the span of like seven or eight hours.
All in preparation for next month! 8D 8D 8D 8D 8D 8D ....D:
Drawn and colored in Photoshop CS3 on Wacom tablet.
COMMISSIONS ALWAYS OPEN - note me if you're interested!
ahaha tricia have i ever told you how amazing you are? (...yes, yes i have. in fact, it probably annoys you XD) i love the calendar idea and this picture turned out really awesome!! you always impress me but it never fails to surprise me that you just keep getting better and better at these things (there must be a limit to the epic awesome SOMEWHERE!!!). here's to the end of january, crossing my fingers we're soon to be done with weather below freezing!!
This is gonna be so neat. So is the rest of the gang going to make appearences in this project? It's so cool to see how they look now, after seeing you draw them as far back as middle school.
I have no idea why, but I really like that ear .-. And the snow, of course. It looks so cold and glowy.
Thanks! ^^ A few months ago, I went through a couple peoples' DA accounts and I came across Sarieu's calendar project and my own ideas snowballed from there.
I have a list of what the other pictures are going to be, posted somewhere in my LJ. But I can't decide whether I want to post it here or leave it to surprise :3 Anyway, yes. The rest of the gang are going to make multiple appearances through the months. I dunno. What would you suggest I do?
...that was a horribly scatterbrained paragraph. Forgive me.
Also, really? The ear is probably my least favorite bit of the picture, but I'm glad other people think it's nice. But thank you very much for the comment and compliments! ^^
Haha, your characters' personalities sure have shifted since they were first made, haven't they? I remember back when Navi used to be the inanely cheery one and Tamara used to be the Queen of Frigid. XD;
I love her reflection on the glass, and can't wait to see the rest of the calendar! And, y'know, anything else you might be drawing. Nudge nudge. Wink wink.
I think you might be mistaking Navi for Cari there :3 But yeah, there's been a heavy amount of development for all three of them since their humble-ish roots. Tamara's actually not the ice queen anymore; she's been quite sociable recently.
As for other drawings I might be working on, well, they are being worked on, don't you worry!
I... really want to get back into your characters. XD; I loved those three the way they were, but they have so much more depth to them now--where can I find stuff to do with them?
*tries not to drool over thoughts of other drawings you might be working on*
Unfortunately, all of the character development and RP logs are in the form of two (100+ pages each of -pure- script) Word documents and over 40 HTML documents. I would not subject you to those unless you were hardcore about understanding their histories and whatnot
But I can, however, point you in the direction of Kitty's NaNoWriMo of last year, titled "Normal". It's an excellent example of the status quo and is almost pure character crack. It's considerably shorter and extremely accessible to even those who know absolutely nothing about our universe. You can find it here: [link] (each entry beyond there is a new segment of story)
Also, I'm in the middle of a 100 Short Story challenge on my writing journal (found here: [link] ). Each story has to be about the three sisters. There's a lot of missing context for most of them, but they're all bits of insight to their personalities and mindsets in certain situations.
Anything else, feel free to ask me As you can see, I love spamming my characters. They're my babies, and I'm proud of how they've grown since the beginning.

Leave it to surprise! Yayyy, I can't wait to see them all ^^
Scatterbrain is the only language I speak nowadays.
Yeah, I just really like the way it's shaded. Random, I know .-.
You're welcome, as always.
Yay for random siggys>>
